Twelve children transported to various hospitals due to being served alcohol by accident. According to one of the parents in attendance the fruit punch did not appear to taste right, and the restaurant staff came and took away all the drinks. Children were aged 10 and under and were there for a birthday party.

A dozen children celebrating a birthday party about 9:40 p.m. Tuesday were transported to a hospital Tuesday night after they were accidentally given alcohol at Home Run Inn, 4254 W. 31st St. A 13-year-old girl told officers that she drank alcohol from a single cup, police said. Soon after, however, 11 other children chimed in and said they also drank from the cup.
