A magnitude-6.9 earthquake hit the coast of Northern California near Eureka, but there were no immediate reports of injury or damage and no danger of a tsunami, according to officials.
The earthquake struck at 9:18 p.m. PDT centered 50 miles west of Eureka and about four miles beneath the Pacific seabed, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The earthquake was followed by about a six, including one aftershock measuring a magnitude 4.6. Click on @NWSBayArea link below for updates.
