Earthquake Magnitude 6.9 Northern California Near Eureka, No Early Injury or Damage Reports

A magnitude-6.9 earthquake hit the coast of Northern California near Eureka, but there were no immediate reports of injury or damage and no danger of a tsunami, according to officials.

The earthquake struck at 9:18 p.m. PDT centered 50 miles west of Eureka and about four miles beneath the Pacific seabed, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
