Winter Roads Again: Fortunately It’s Saturday and Most People Are Not Commuting

#ad▼

The outbound Dan Ryan expressway (I-94) was shut down just after 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning after a tanker truck rolled over between 79th Street and 81st Street. The expressway was expected to have at least partial blockage until about 9:30 a.m.

Fortunately in the suburbs many people have stayed off the roads. There were by 8:30 a.m. there were two crashes on Interstate 90 near Mile Marker 65 and Mile Marker 66. One of the crashes was a spinout and rollover. Also a vehicle spun out and ended up on its side off of southbound Route 53 between Rand Road and Palatine Road. No serious injuries reported. Hoffman Estates firefighter/paramedics and Palatine firefighter/paramedics were on the scene for the three spinouts/crashes.

Outbound I-94 at about 79th Street to 81st Street on Chicago’s South Side.
