Police Chase Ends Near US Cellular Field (35th and Wentworth); Three Shooting Victims Inside Vehicle

A police chase began about 11:25 a.m. at Ferdinand Street and Hamilin Avenue after someone inside the car shot at police during an attempted traffic stop. A police pursuit began eastbound on the Eisenhower Expressway and then southbound on the Dan Ryan. The chase ended at the entrance to US Cellular Parking Lot A off of Wentworth Avenue, just north of 35th Street.

Police officers and detectives surrounded a dark Jeep Cherokee in the middle of Wentworth Avenue, and yellow evidence markers were placed in the street.

The local lanes of southbound were blocked and the exit ramp at 31st Street was also blocked. The local lanes of the outbound Dan Ryan Expressway were backed up to about 15th street at 11:45 a.m.

Three Chicago Fire Department Advanced Life Support ambulances were called to the scene. No police officers are reported injured at this time.

Southbound Dan Ryan and Eastbound Kennedy Expressway backed up. Kennedy Expressway backed up to near Central Avenue and Foster Avenue at 1:07 p.m.
