Attempted Cigarette Purchase with a Counterfeit $20 Bill, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 12:01 PM Sunday of attempted forgery/fraud at the Citgo gas station convenience store counter, 304 South Arlington Heights Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender attempted to make a purchase of cigarettes with a counterfeit $20 bill. The clerk refused the sale and the offender left the scene.

The offender was described as a male/white, age 19, wearing tan pants. The offender was driving a tan Volkswagen sedan.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Sunday, February 16, 2014 between 12:00 p.m. and 12:10 p.m.
