Wheeling police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:15 PM Wednesday to hintz and Tide Ct Wheeling, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a pedestrian was hit by a car at Hintz Road and Tide Court.
Police arrived first and immediately shut down eastbound Hintz Road at Route 83. Police then shut down Hintz Road in both directions between Elmhurst Road and Wheeling Road.
Wheeling firefighter/paramedics transported the victim to Glenbrook Hospital — apparently with life-threatening injuries.
A prolonged accident investigation was underway until about 11:45 p.m., and Hintz Road was re-opened at about 11:55 p.m. Wednesday.
