Residential Burglary on South Gibbons Avenue, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 12:31 PM Tuesday of a residential burglary in the block of 500 South Gibbons Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders burglarized a two-story house while a housewatcher was watching the house and while the homeowners were out of town. The house watcher opened the front door and immediately saw — directly to the back of the house — that there was damage to the rear door lock and frame.

On closer inspection it was evident that the door that leads to the kitchen was pried open.

Unknown offender(s) ransacked a second floor bedroom and a second floor master bedroom.

A jewelry box was missing, but no inventory is available at this time. Also, no damage estimate is available at this time for the rear door.

The crime is reported to have occurred between Monday, December 23, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. and Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at 12:30 p.m.
