Washington Tornado Video Before, During, After: “I’ve Never Seen Anything Like It”

Video shows Washington, Illinois tornado in its approach; camera view as Marc Wells heads for the basement with his daughter, Josie; and the camera view of the shock of discovering your house and neighborhood is destroyed [SOME GRAPHIC LANGUAGE].

Video shows the approach of the F4 tornado with debris flying high in the air. The video turns to darkness when Marc Wells and Josie Taylor Wells seek shelter in the basement. Building materials vibrate so violently that the wind makes them sound like a chain saw buzzing. Large pieces tear away and banks are hear as materials hit the house. Then Marc Wells comes upstairs to find his house destroyed and the neighborhood destroyed.

(During the time the Washington, Illinois tornado struck Marc Wells’ house)

“Is this going to save us?” (Josie asks her dad while they’re in the basement.)

“I hope so honey.”

“Don’t go out there.” (Josie to dad, immediately after tornado passed)

“Our house is freakin’ destroyed!”

“I’ve Never Seen Anything Like It”

“Let’s go … we have to see if anybody else’s house is up”

“I’m in shock, I can’t believe this happened.”

“The neighbors’ houses are gone.”

“Come on let’s get out of here the tornado is past.”

“Watch the nails.”

“We gotta get out of here where it’s safe, before the structure falls.”

“F#%K there’s a car, right there.” [points to the yard]

“Let’s go we gotta get to the neighbors.”

“Here is what my oldest daughter Josie Taylor Wells And I experienced, I am so glad Kerry Gorman Wells and the other girls were out of town when this storm came through. Very thankful we were not injured.”
