Fire in Oven Ventilation System at Tortorice’s Pizzeria on East Central Road, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:57 PM Wednesday to Tortorice’s Pizza, 1713 East Central Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of an oven fire. First firefighters on the scene reported smoke showing from a pizza restaurant in a one-story strip mall.

Fire was reported in a ventilation system, and firefighters were checking for fire extension to the roof.

At first look the fire appears to be under control. Firefighters were working on extinguishing the fire with a handline inside the restaurant. There is report of minimal smoke inside the restaurant, and fortunately the fire was contained to the oven.
