Residential Burglary of Attached Garage on West Grove St, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 8:46 PM Friday of a residential burglary in the block of 1700 West Grove Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders burglarized an attached garage.

The homeowner was on the back patio and saw a shadow of a figure approach his garage. He thought it was a neighbor when he said something toward the direction of the figure.

Actually, the shadowy figure was a bike thief, who fled with the owner’s bicycle. The bike was described as an older model men’s dark blue bicycle taken from the attached two-car garage.

The offender was described as a male/white, possibly about 5’8″ with a medium build, wearing a black sleeveless shirt and shorts.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Friday, August 23, 2013 between 8:40 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.
