Investigation began Thursday when a drug-sniffing dog elicited an alert on a package at a UPS store in Bensenville. Investigators with the DuPage Metropolitan Enforcement Group later watched as Byun picked up the package and left in a vehicle driven by Brian Panezich, according to Assistant State’s Attorney Anne Therieau.

Police also reviewed surveillance video, which showed Park picking up a package described in court as a “large trash bag inside a laundry basket.” Therieau said cousins Landry Park and Ted Park were seen with the package when police arrived at their apartment a short time later. The package contained 15 pounds of marijuana. Landry Park also possessed cocaine on his person and possessed more than 30 grams inside the apartment.

All four subjects admitted their roles in the drug scheme, telling investigators they were paid marijuana or cash for retrieving drug shipments. One defendant told police the drugs were going to deliver the drugs to a person in Chicago.
