Residential Burglary Nets Items Valued Over $3,200 from Alley Garage on East Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 5:01 PM Saturday of a residential burglary in the block of 1100 East Northwest Highway Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders burglarized a detached garage in a back alley for a row of apartment buildings. Total value for items stolen is estimated over $3,200.

During the burglary, the side access door was pried open.

Missing were two carpeted speaker boxes –one black with 8-inch an sub woofer and one gray with 12-inch subwoofers valued at $100 each.

Also missing were several items related to construction: four rolls of 14 gauge copper wire valued at $100, four rolls of 12-gauge copper wire valued at $120, and two rolls of 10-gauge wire valued at $160. Also missing were four rolls of solid copper (unknown value), six or seven eight-foot copper pipes valued at $20-$30 each, one bin of copper scrap worth about $40, and two 5-gallon buckets of copper fittings worth about $150 to $200.

Also missing were six rolls of HVAC copper –one valued at $175, one valued at $95, two rolls valued at $150 each, and two rolls valued at $125.

Also missing was a one-hundred foot roll of heavy duty wire valued over $500.

Also missing was a rigid pistol rodder used for plumbing valued at $150, a rigid hand rodder valued at $60, and four bladder drain cleaners in drain kits valued at $30-$40 each.

An Eagle depth finder used for fishing was also missing valued at $200.

One Giant brand aluminum ladder was also missing. No value was available for the Giant brand ladder, but the ladders are known to be worth over $150 to $200.

The burglary may have been committed by a past resident of the complex.

The crime is reported to have occurred between June 24, 2013 and July 13, 2013 at 5:00 p.m.
