Theft of Smart Phone on Residential Street South of Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights — Between South Middle School and E Lynden Ln

Arlington Heights police received a report about 1:01 PM Friday of a theft somewhere along a path of travel from South Middle School, 400 South Highland Avenue, and an address in the block of 700 East Lynden Lane Arlington Heights, IL.

Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders took a Samsung Galaxy S III valued at $400 fell out of the victim’s pocket. The victim realized the phone was missing upon arrival at home.

When the victim called the phone, a boy answered the phone and said he would return it if the victim paid for the phone, or for a finder’s fee.

The crime is reported to have occurred on June 7, 2013 at about 1:00 p.m.
