Former Investigators Want to Reopen TWA Flight 800 Investigation

Former NTSB and TWA investigators are pushing to reopen the probe into the 1996 crash of TWA Flight 800 off the coast of New York, saying new evidence points to the often-discounted theory that a missile strike may have downed the jumbo jet.

Investigators say that testimonies of hundreds of witnesses were scrubbed. Witnesses reported seeing a missile ascending into the sky the night of the Boeing 747 explosion. The FBI ignored the testimony of hundreds of witnesses and brought in the CIA to create an animation that claimed the ascending “missile trail” was actually the aircraft continuing to climb after the explosion. Experts for the reopening of the investigation claim the physics of the aircraft continuing to climb with such an explosion are impossible.

An official conclusion determined that a spark caused an explosion of a fuel tank and split off the nose of the aircraft from the rest of the aircraft.

A documentary is scheduled to air on EPIX TV on July 17, 2013 — the 17-year anniversary of the explosion. EPIX is not available on Comcast, WOW or DirecTV. EPIX is carried on Verizon FiOS, Mediacom, Charter Communications, Cox Communications and Dish Network.
