Battery, Attempted Purse Snatching Near Prospect Heights Metra Train Station, Woman Seeks Safety At Dunkin’ Donuts, Mt. Prospect

Mount Prospect police responded about 10:47 AM Monday to a report of a battery and attempted robbery where the victim ran to safety at Dunkin’ Donuts, 1301 North Wolf Road Mount Prospect, IL. Police received a report that a woman was attacked near the Metra train station while she was walking. The offender knocked her down and attempted to take her purse, but she was able to hold on to her purse. She then walked to the Dunkin’ Donuts at 1301 North Wolf Road and called 9-1-1. The victim initially refused paramedics, but police called paramedics after they arrived.

Prospect Heights police also responded to the area.

The offender was described as a male/white about 35-years-old with dark hair, wearing a blue hoodie jacket and blue jeans. He was last seen walking toward the train station.
