Ask Paul B: Chicago Should Be Proud

#ad▼

Dear Paul B Readers,

Last night, after whooping it up with a friend and countless high fives and several unmentionable expletives, I just had to share my enthusiasm with Chicago’s fans as well. I considered leaving my 15 year old home alone, but decided to ask him to join me. We both ended up on Addison walking east toward Wrigley. I can’t find the words to describe how adult and professional these young Hawkey Fans conducted themselves. I must have highfived 150 staggering, screaming, jubilant men, women, and kids on our 1 mile trek to Wrigley. Although Wrigley was blocked off at midnight by our men in blue, I stopped worrying about any violence after a while, and thoroughly enjoyed this Chicago Cup Celebration.

The weather was perfect, the fans were absolutely friendly and polite, and if there were any issues, I was totally unaware. It was just good old fashioned hooting and hollering about a Chicago Hawks team with character, heart, skill and determination. I believe our energized, and raucous fans represented our Blackhawks with that very same reputation. I am so PROUD of you, CHICAGO. I commend you on a wonderful festivity, and thank you for preserving one unbelievable sporting “treasure” for my son, I, and CHICAGO!!!
