Bell Elementary School Warns of Kidnapping Attempt of 4th Grade Boy Near Oakley Ave and Grace St

Chicago police received a report that a man attempted to abduct a fourth-grade boy at Bell Elementary School, 3730 North Oakley Avenue in the North Center neighborhood of Chicago.

A middle aged black male approached the boy in the playground at Bell Elementary School about 3:20 p.m. Wednesday May 22, 2013. The man said he was supposed to pick up the boy because his mother was at home sleeping. The child was able to run away and return safely to his mother. The offender was last seen walking westbound on Grace Street.

The full description of the offender was a male/black, 45-55 year-old 5’6″ thin build, brown eyes with short hair and a dark complexion. He was wearing blue jeans, a stained black T-shirt, flip-flop sandals and a blue Chicago Cubs baseball cap.
