COOK COUNTY, IL – Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart is asking for the public’s help in locating additional victims of a man suspected of sexually abusing young girls.

Pareshkumar Desai, 50, of Des Plaines, was charged Feb. 20 with seven counts of predatory criminal sexual assault, two counts of criminal sexual assault, and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, all felonies.

He is being held at Cook County Jail in lieu of $900,000 bond. Desai’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 20 at the Skokie Courthouse.

Relatives called Sheriff’s Police on Feb. 10 after a 9-year-old girl told a relative that Desai inappropriately touched her and two 8-year-old girls at a gathering in Mount Prospect.

Sheriff’s Police Detectives believe there may be other victims and ask anyone with information to call the Cook County Sheriff’s Detective Unit at 708-865-4896.
