Naperville police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:03 a.m. February 20, 2013 to a report of an injured construction worker at a building on the campus of Edward Hospital and Health Services, 801 S. Washington.

The first unit arrived on the scene at 8:08 AM and was directed to the top level of the construction project where they found the injured worker. Due to the limited access to the upper level of the building’s addition, a Specialized Rescue Response was requested by the first-in company officer. The Specialized Rescue Response brought another 10 personnel and 5 pieces of fire apparatus to the scene. The fire companies treated the patient, secured him in a patient packaging device and used the on-site crane to lower him to the ground for transport to the Emergency Department.

The Naperville Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Naperville Police Department.
