Sights and Sounds: A Presidential Inauguration.

In the chilly air of a January morning, scores of people took to the National Mall in Washington, D.C. to witness President Barack Obama taking the oath of office, beginning a second term of his presidency.

Placing his hand on two Bibles, one used by President Abraham Lincoln at his first Inauguration and one used by the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., President Barack Obama took a public oath of office on Monday.

Musician Kelly Clarkson performed ‘My Country, Tis of Thee’ at President Barack Obama’s second-term inauguration on Monday.

Raw Video: President Barack Obama exited his limousine for the traditional presidential walk in the inaugural parade from Capitol Hill to the White House. Obama and first lady Michelle Obama waved to cheering, flag-waving crowds lining Pennsylvania Avenue.

President Barack Obama told lawmakers in a toast at the Capitol Monday that he’s confident they can act together to make a difference for the country’s children, “and our children’s children.”
