Metra Train #621 Involved In Minor Crash With A Car At Northwest Highway and the Arthur/Davis Crossing

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:15 PM Monday to a car vs. train crash at Northwest Highway and the Arthur/Davis crossing. Police were on the scene within a minute, and reported that there were no injuries. The only obvious damage to the vehicle was that the front bumper was knocked of off the vehicle

Metra posted the following Service Advisory at 3:21 p.m. …

Train #621 to arrive Crystal Lake at 3:55pm is stopped near Arlington Heights due to a grade crossing incident. Duration of the delay may be up to 40-50 minutes. We will provide updated information as it becomes available.

The vehicle struck the train on the south side of the Union Pacific railroad. Trains are passing with extra caution on north track(s).

Train #621 is scheduled to stop weekdays at 3:16 p.m. at the Arlington Heights downtown Metra station and 3:20 pm. at the Arlington Heights Arlington Park Race Track. The train is also scheduled to stop at stations in Palatine, Barrington, Fox River Grove, Cary, Pingree Road and finally Crystal Lake.

The train crossing at Northwest Highway and Arthur/Davis is expected to be closed for a short period of time.
