Buffalo Grove police responded about 2:08 PM Saturday to a report that a suspect passed out after inhaling a cleaning substance at Taco Bell, 50 W Dundee Rd Buffalo Grove, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a male/subject passed out after inhaling a cleaning solution. The subject was inside the restaurant, regained consciousness, and was last seen heading westbound on Dundee Road. He was wearing a black jacket.
Firefighter/paramedics responding found the victim across from 150 West Dundee Road.
No word on any arrests or charges, or whether the subject was transported to the hospital.
A Palatine woman, Kari Casey, 20, was sentenced to 5 years in prison in Januray after she as involved in a rollover crash that seriously injured two people on April 28, 2012 on Northwest Highway and First Bank Drive near Hicks Road. An elderly woman was critically injured, required several months in the hospital, and currently requires 24-hour nursing care.
Casey pleaded guilty to aggravated driving under the influence of intoxicating compounds, a special Class 4 felony, at the Rolling Meadows branch of Cook County Circuit. Blood tests had also discovered codeine, heroin and cocaine in her system.
In another “huffing” case, Carly Rousso, 18, of Highland Park, is alleged to have inhaled fumes from a cleaning product before driving and striking a mother walking with her children in Highland Park on Labor Day. The incident killed the mother’s 5-year-old girl.
