As a “Thank you for your service to our Nation”, veterans are invited to the 1st Annual Veterans Day Celebration organized by the Veterans Memorial Committee of Arlington Heights.
The Veterans Day 2012 Celebration and Free Breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, Nov 10, 2012 (the day before Veterans Day) at 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St Peter Lutheran Church – Life Center, 111 W. Olive Street in Arlington Heights.
Highlights planned for the event:
Free breakfast will be provided to all veterans
Welcome by Mayor Arlene Mulder and the commanders of veterans organizations in Arlington Heights
Special presentation and cake cutting by the Northwest Suburban Marine Corps League in honor of the 237th birthday of the USMC
“Stories Behind the Bricks” – stories of veterans who have commemorative bricks at Veterans Memorial Park in Arlington Hts
Military Flag Ceremony by the Color Guard of American Legion Post 208
Annual “Remembering Our Veterans” photo (after the event at 11:00 am in front of the giant US flag).
