Glenview police and firefighter/paramedics responded 8:30 AM Sunday to a report of a man down — fallen partially in a fire pit — in the 2300 block of Dewes Street. Neal Pagano, 46, was found partially lying in a backyard firepit by his two teenage sons at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Pagano’s wife and a third teenage son were out of town at a sports event. He was last seen about 10:00 p.m. Saturday — a balmy, but damp October night.

Pagano was a co-founder of Pallet Wrapz, 1100 West Monroe Street near Monroe Street and Aberdeen Street between Chicago’s Near West Side and Greektown neighborhoods.

Pagano apparently fell and struck his head and lost consciousness in the firepit. Further details may be discovered as the case is turned over to the Cook County Medical Examiner. Glenview Police Department has not initiated a criminal investigation.
