#ad▼

Arlington Heights police received a report about 11:08 AM Sunday of a theft of government property at the northeast corner of Miner Street and Waterman Avenue. Police received a report that water/sewer lid “manhole” cover was missing near the intersection.

Be careful of this hazard: Last Monday a woman walking behind the Jewel-Osco on East Dundee Road in Palatine fell into an open “manhole” with a missing cover. Palatine firefighter/paramedics and police rescued the woman after they got help from Northwest Central Dispatch telecommunicators with E911 Phase 2 capability, who plotted the woman’s location from her cell phone signal (See The Cardinal Woman Rescued After Falling in Hole from Stolen Manhole Cover Near Hicks Rd and Dundee Rd, Palatine)
