Arlington Heights police responded about 8:17 PM Tuesday to a report of a theft from a residential garage or vehicle burglary in the 1000 block of South Walnut Avenue. Police received a report that a resident saw a juvenile male enter a garage. The resident came outside to confront the male and realized that money was missing money from his wallet that was in his car. The juvenile was cooperative with the resident, but said he was selling candy.

The juvenile was described as a male/black wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt.

Police confronted the suspect and discovered he was a 14-year-old resident of Chicago working with United Achievers Group. The United Achievers Group did have a valid solicitor permit through the Village of Arlington Heights. The area representative turned over the remaining permits for the other workers and left the area.
