Schaumburg police responded about 5:07 PM Sunday to a report of a retail theft suspect fleeing from Kohl’s, 410 East Golf Road. Police received a report that a male suspect was fleeing and fighting with store security and running toward Woodfield Mall. Police also received a report that the suspect possibly dropped jewelry merchandise in the parking lot during the foot pursuit.
Police received an update that the male/white suspect was hiding under a white Chevy Equinox. After the clear description of the suspect’s updated location, police had the suspect in custody by 5:05 p.m. near the Hyatt Regency on Golf Road.
The first caller hung up on 9-1-1 telecommunicators after giving a vague description of the incident, which made pinpointing the location of the suspect difficult at first.
