Accident investigation after fatal motorcycle crash at Meacham Road ad Old Schaumburg in Schaumburg.
Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:55 PM Friday to a car vs. motorcycle crash at Meacham and Old Schaumburg Road. Firefighter/paramedics received reports from multiple callers that a motorcycle and the motorcyclist were on fire after the crash.
Firefighters on the scene reported the motorcycle was fully-involved with a fatality.
Meacham Road was shut down for an extended time period in the area for accident investigation. A Mazda minivan, which was stopped on eastbound Old Schaumburg Road, had moderate-to-severe damage to the right front passenger door and windshield. The rush hour crash appeared to involve a southbound minivan that turned left in front of a northbound motorcycle.
Schaumburg Road was cleared in both directions about 8:45 p.m. Friday.
