Demolition Derby for Wednesday Morning Rush — No Serious Crashes Between 7 AM and 8:30 AM

A high number of crashes during the Wednesday morning rush hour were reported. Two of the crashes were near high schools — Fremd and Palatine.

Elk Grove Village police reported a truck hit a wall at 540 Lively and requested that Elk Grove Village building inspectors responded to inspect the building.

Palatine police responded about 7:59 a.m. after firefighters discovered a three-car crash involving a blue van and a red small vehicle and a third vehicle at Euclid Avenue and Quentin Road.

Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:44 a.m. to crash with injuries at an entrance to a parking lot near the stadium at Palatine High School. Two silver Honda Accord vehicles crashed with air bag deployment.

Palatine police discovered a crash about 7:34 a.m. at Quentin and Partridge.

Palatine police responded about 7:19 a.m. to a property damage crash in front of Fremd High School on Quentin Road just south of Illinois. Firefighters reported a four-car minor crash with no injuries. Air bags were deployed on at least one vehicle, but no injuries were reported.

Buffalo Grove police responded about 7:07 a.m. to a crash at Highland Grove and Fabish. A school bus with children on board and a white Mercury crash. No injuries reported.

Schaumburg firefighter/paramedics and Illinois State Police responded about 7:24 a.m. to a personal injury crash with entrapment on northbound Route 53 at Woodfield Road. The crash involved a red Silverado, a red SUV, and a black vehicle. An occupant in the red Silverado was unable to open doors to the vehicle. Firefighter/paramedics reported no entrapment. At least two people were injured during the crash.

Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:03 a.m. to a report of a crash with injuries near Schaumburg Road and Braintree. Firefighter/paramedics received a report that four-to-seven vehicles were involved. Police reported the crash was in the eastbound lanes. Firefighters reported four vehicles involved with minor injuries.

Buffalo Grove police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:03 a.m. to a crash with air bag deployment at Lake Cook Road and McHenry Road. Two blue vehicle and a beige vehicle were reported crashed in the intersection.
