Two major fireworks displays on July 4, 2012 are unlikely to cancel or be postponed …
Arlington Park Racetrack fireworks at Euclid Avenue and Wilke Road (just northeast of Route 53 and Euclid Avenue) are scheduled for July 4, 2012. The grounds are well-watered and green as part of maintenance of the grounds and racetrack.
Elgin, Hanover Park and Hoffman Estates have combined their efforts at Northwest Fourth Fest at Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates — mostly asphalt parking lot in the area. Their fireworks display is also on July 4, 2012.
