Three Killed, Three Injured in Alabama: Allegedly Shot by Desmonte Leonard at a University Heights Apartment at Auburn

Investigators in Alabama are searching for a gunman who killed three people, including two former Auburn University football players, and wounded three others at a weekend pool party near campus, authorities said Sunday.

Auburn football players Edward Christian (fullback), Ladarious Phillips (former lineman), and Auburn resident Gemario Pitts were allegedly murdered by Desmonte Leonard, 22, allegedly opened fire.

Eric Mack, a sophomore lineman for the Tigers, was also shot and is hospitalized at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama. Another victim, John Robinson is ‘fighting for his life’ with gunshot wound(s). Xavier Moss received a minor gunshot wound and was treated and released.

A warrant for three counts of capital murder have been signed and issued for Desmonte Leonard, according to Auburn police chief Tommy Dawson.
