Mount Prospect police responded about 2:50 a.m. Tuesday to a report of an attempted theft in the 400 block of South Wa Pella Avenue. Police received a report that two juvenile/male subjects in a dark pickup truck attempted to steal a homeowner’s portable basketball hoop. The pickup truck was last seen headed southbound on Wa Pella Avenue.
