Mount Prospect police responded about 10:53 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a man with a gun and a group fighting, and then shots fired in the 1100 block of Boxwood. Minutes later police received a report of a stabbing victim.
Police received a report that three shots were heard.
Police were searching the area of Boxwood and were also searching in the Randhurst Village area. Marked units and detectives are on the scene.
The subjects fighting were described as male, and possibly gang members.
At least one person was transported to a local hospital.
