Watch for temperatures to drop with today’s high at 65°F about noon and then falling to the 50’s by 6:00 p.m. and continuing down to a low of 49°F about 3:00 a.m. Rain is expected to begin overnight or early tomorrow morning. Thursday’s high is forecast at 51°F, but some areas of Chicagoland might not hit 50°F — unusual for late May.

Saturday: A 30 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 70.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 55.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77.

Upper 70’s and 80’s forecast for next week.

The record low for May 30 and May 31 is 35°F, set in 1873. At least we’re far from that temperature. Last Sunday May 27, 2012, Chicago weather broke a record high temp with 97°F. Monday, May 28, 2012 broke a record high with 95°F.
