Activated Burglar Alarm Prompts Discovery Residential Burglary on South Vail Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 8:50 p.m. Friday May 4, 2012 to an activated burglar alarm in the 1200 block of South Vail Avenue. Police arrived immediately and discovered an apparent burglary.

An unknown offender or offenders removed a kitchen window screen, appeared to have climbed through the open window, damaged the alarm control panel, searched the master bedroom and may have left without taking any property.

It is possible that the burglar alarm hastened the exit of the offender or offenders.
