Cook County Forest Preserve police discovered or received a report of a gunshot victim in a car parked in a back lot near Camp Alphonse, 1500 West Dundee Road in the Forest Preserved District of Cook County Deer Grove Preserve.
Palatine firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:54 a.m. Wednesday to report that Cook County Forest Preserve police were on the scene with a male victim with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was inside a parked car in a parking lot in the forest preserve. Paramedics were informed that the scene was secure.
Police are investigating, and the area has been closed off to vehicle traffic and pedestrian traffic. Palatine police also responded to the scene.
