Foot Pursuit Suspect Near Itasca Holiday Inn Hit By a Vehicle on Eastbound I-290 at Irving Park Rd

Illinois State police reported they were in pursuit of a male/black subject on foot about 6:03 p.m. Saturday. Police described the suspect as wearing all black. The suspect ran to the front of the Holiday Inn, 860 West Irving Park Road, Itasca. Police immediately set up a perimeter around the hotel, and Itasca police immediately responded for backup for Illinois State troopers.

Itasca police were setting up to do a room-to-room search when the suspect was spotted leaving the Holiday Inn about 6:10 p.m.


Roselle police also responded, as Illinois State Police call for backup from all police units in the area. A K-9 was also responding to the scene.

The suspect was then seen leaving the Holiday Inn and walking along the east side of the building about 6:10 p.m. The suspect ran back toward I-290 and was stuck by a vehicle in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 290 near Irving Park Road. Illinois State Police immediately requested that Itasca firefighter/paramedics expedite to the scene about 6:11 p.m. The suspect was also declared in custody about 6:12 p.m.

The suspect was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries and police guard. His condition was reported as stabilized on Sunday.

The suspect was associated with a white U-Haul vehicle.
