Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics about 7:18 p.m. Saturday to a report of a vehicle crashed on its side at Schaumburg Road and Summit Drive. Police arriving on the scene immediately requested firefighter/paramedics, who were already en route with a pin-in response for the report of a vehicle rollover. Meanwhile dispatch received a report that white SUV — possibly a Nissan Pathfinder — fled the scene. The vehicle was seen by witnesses — stopped at Schaumburg Road and Trails Drive, less than one-half mile east of the rollover crash. The offending vehicle was also reported to be located by the Walgreens, 770 East Schaumburg Road.
A second crash with no injuries was reported at Schaumburg Road and Trail Drive — possibly involving the white SUV.
The offending vehicle was towed from Schaumburg Road and Trails Drive to a police holding area. The driver of the offending vehilce was arrested and transported in custody to Schaumburg Police Department Headquarters.
The victim injured in the rollover vehicle at Schaumburg and Summit was transported to Alexian Brothers.
