Schaumburg police responded about 12:42 a.m. Thursday to the area of Hastings Court and Walnut Lane after a report of shots fired. A witness reported four shots were fired by one of two male subjects. The subjects apparently picked up casings after the shots were fired. Police found at least one of the casings within about 10 minutes after responding to the scene. Police were on the scene within three minutes.

The offenders were described as two teenagers wearing hoods with black jackets. The subject holding the gun was wearing white sneakers and were seen walking toward Dunsford Court. Police saw nothing on Dunsford Court when they arrived.

Police surround the area with assistance from Hoffman Estate police and their K-9 unit. About 1:18 a.m. police had a subject detained that was wearing white sneakers after checking a residence in the neighborhood nearby.

No word on any arrest.
