Arlington Heights police responded about 8:12 p.m. Thursday to a report that a woman appeared intoxicated and could not find the exit of a downtown restaurant. A witness also reported the woman had difficulty finding her vehicle — a red Jeep Wrangler.

Police received an update about 8:15 p.m. that the adult female — possibly intoxicated and with children in the vehicle — was westbound on Northwest Highway from Vail Avenue. Police then received a report that the vehicle was being followed by a delivery vehicle.

Police caught up with the offending driver and vehicle near Northwest Highway and Yale Avenue. The adult female driver was investigated and arrested DUI.

The female driver was transported to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters.
