Hanover Park police responded about 8:02 p.m. Wednesday to a report of an attempted armed robbery at a Check Free Pay, 6768 Barrington Road, Hanover Park. The offender was described as a male/Hispanic, 35 5’8″ 200 LBS last seen wearing a black winter jacket with a hood — possibly carrying a blue zipper vinyl bag. The offender was last seen heading eastbound from the crime scene. Area police departments were alerted to be on the lookout for the suspect.
