Livingston County Sheriff deputies responded to a multiple victim shooting in the 100 block of South Street in Emington. A woman, a girl and a baby were found in the backyard. A man and a boy were found in an undisclosed location. Emington is located between I-57 and I-55 — about half way between Kankakee and Pontiac.
Livingston County Coroner Michael Burke Friday reported the victims’ names are Sara McMeen, 30; Maggie Warren, 10-months; Skyler Lemke, 8, a second grader at Saunemin grade school; Ian Lemke, 7, a first grader at Saunemin grade school; and Daniel T. Warren, 29.
A neighbor witnessed Sara McMeen stand over the infant and fire a shot at the infant. She fired the shot after the neighbor asked her if everything was alright. Sara McMeen answered, ‘No, everything is not alright.’ the neighbor ran from the scene after the shot was fired.
