VIDEO: Aftermath after pickup truck crashes into SUV on Central Road and ends up crossing two backyards on South Chestnut Avenue in Arlington Heights.

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:17 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a crash with injuries involving a pickup truck crashed into a tree and a garage in the 900 block of South Chestnut Avenue. Initially police received a report that the driver of the pickup truck was leaving the scene of the accident, but there may have been a problem with the vehicle or a medical problem involving the driver.

Police were putting pieces of information together. An early call also reported that a pickup truck was being chased by two vehicles, but this was not confirmed early in the investigation. Some heavy tire skid marks showing a vehicle spin were left on Central Road. The skid and apparent crash with an SUV — possibly a GMC Envoy — occurred just to the south of the backyard where the pickup truck crashed through a chain-link fence, knocked over a tree, and came to rest as the tree was pushed onto the garage after the crash with the SUV.

According to a witness, two people were transported to the hospital from the SUV by a Buffalo Grove Fire Department rescue ambulance. The driver of the pickup truck was transported by Arlington Heights Fire Department rescue ambulance.

Arlington Heights police are investigating the crash. No word on any charges or arrests.
