Woman, Man Collapse Minutes Apart at Macy’s and Sears; AED Used at Sears

Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:51 a.m. during early morning black Friday sales to a report of a woman collapsed near the fountain entrance at Macy’s, 1 Woodfield Mall. The 77-year-old woman was reported conscious and breathing when firefighter/paramedics arrived.

Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:58 a.m. Friday to Sears, 2 Woodfield Mall near the south entrance where Woodfield Mall Security were reported to be doing CPR and were using the Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) for man in his 50’s or 60’s that had collapsed.

Each rescue-ambulance crew transported their patient to Northwest Community Hospital.
