Police responded to Arlington Park Metra Train to a report of a battery to a conductor onboard a Northwest Line train.

Arlington Heights police responded about 1:32 a.m. Sunday to a report of a battery onboard a Metra train. Police received a report that a Metra train was pulling up to the Metra train station at 2121 West Northwest Highway with a man in custody with security after he battered a conductor.

Police and firefighter/paramedics arrived and discovered the offender fled westbound along the railroad tracks toward Palatine, and that he was never in custody. The conductor did not require medical aid from paramedics.

The offender was described as a male/white, 35-years-old, 5-10 205 LBS, with brown hair and a goatee, wearing a flannel shirt, and jeans. The offender was reported to be highly intoxicated. Palatine police searched the area west of the Metra train station.

Most Arlington Heights police officers immediately left the scene and responded to a strong armed robbery that was reported on East Algonquin Road at about 1:44 a.m. Sunday.
