Train Derailment, Train Fire in Bartlett Near Spaulding and Gifford Rd

Bartlett firefighters and other area firefighters responded about 5:10 a.m. to a train derailment with fire near Spaulding and Gifford Road. A freight train on Canadian National tracks derailed near Spaulding and Lambert roads in unincorporated Cook County near Bartlett, Illinois.

There are no reports of any injuries.

Although a hazmat response was initiated as a precaution, no evacuations are expected.

The Milwaukee West line is affected by the derailment. There are numerous alerts on Metra’s official website.
