Buffalo Grove police received a report about 2:15 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2011 of a theft at the Jewel-Osco, 79 North McHenry Road. Police received a report from a store employee that a young man was walking around the store for an hour and a half. The employee then saw the man running out of the store. The man fled in a small dark car.

When police arrived the store employee and police could not confirm that anything was actually stolen. Police investigated license registration information of the vehicle and the police officer was able to contact the subject by phone. The man stated that he contemplated stealing something from the store, but decided against it because he always gets caught.

Trespass alert: The young man was advised that he was no longer welcome at the store.
