Hit-and-Run Injured Pedestrian: Police Officer Hit By Acura Near Deer Park Town Center, Kildeer

Kildeer police alert area police departments about 6:41 p.m. Friday of a hit-and-run personal injury incident at Deer Park Town Center near Route 12 and Long Grove Road. Wanted for leaving the scene of a personal injury is the driver of a dark silver or gray Acura with Illinois license plates L 422 423. The driver’s vehicle struck a police officer on foot patrol near the Deer Park Town Center.

The vehicle was last seen southbound on Route 53 passing Palatine Road according to a Kildeer police broadcast on a state police emergency radio network (ISPERN).


The incident occurred during a holiday event, including the arrival of Santa, a light ceremony and fireworks display. No word on what agency employed the police officer. Deer Park village board members voted Monday, October 17, 2011 to terminate the police contract with the Village of Kildeer effective November 15. Deer Park hired Lake County sheriff’s office deputies as replacements.
