Retail Theft in Progress at Walgreens on Palatine Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 11:19 a.m. Wednesday to a report of retail theft that just occurred from the Walgreens, 235 East Palatine Road. Police received a report from a witness that a male stole deodorant and ran out the back door.

The suspect was described as a male/white, 5’8″-5’9″ with long brown hair in his late 20’s wearing a plain brown shirt and black pants.

The suspect fled out a back door, but was believed to have left his car — a gold Saturn — in the back alley of the building. The suspect was assumed to have left his car when the store manager told him he had his license plate number.

Later the actual owner of the gold Saturn arrived at his car and was cleared of any suspicion that he was the retail theft suspect.

A confusing set of circumstances, especially considering a burglary to vehicle occurred in front of Dominick’s minutes later after the Walgreens crime. Not all suspect information confirmed for the two cases. Also no confirmation whether the two crimes or offenders in the crimes might have been related.
