Hard turn on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 about 3:10 p.m. at Arlington Heights Road and Oakton Street with inset showing driver of a green Scion xD after reckless, squealing turn near the entrance to grocery store in Arlington Heights about 5:44 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2011.

Last night The Cardinal reported a reckless driver in a grocery store parking lot. While making a hard left turn, the driver of a lime green Scion xD apparently floored his vehicle’s accelerator and squealed the tires for about three seconds near the entrance of a grocery store in Arlington Heights Monday night about 5:41 p.m. Monday.

Monday night the driver appeared to have frightened an older woman in a silver Mercury Grand Marquis and could have seriously harmed a child pedestrian that might have gotten away from a mother’s guard. The lot was mostly full with much traffic backing out of parking spaces.

Today a reader submitted a photo of the same car and apparently the same driver matching a description of the subject from yesterday, driving allegedly recklessly on Arlington Heights Road. A passenger snapped a quick photo while the driver of the green Scion was reported to have made a hard right while squealing tires from southbound Arlington Heights Road to westbound Oakton Street. The driver had allegedly been making quick lanes changes back and forth on southbound Arlington Heights Road prior to the hard turn. The reader reported very aggressive driving and loud music coming from the Scion. The reader recognized the driver and car were the same as reported in The Cardinal — Arlingtoncardinal.com the day before.
